What I do with your idea
The question nobody asks out loud: what if he turns it down and then builds it himself? I am not asking you to trust me — I am giving you the means to check.
Saying no costs me a client
I make my living building, not judging. The report is free: if I write that your idea does not hold up, I have worked for a few days for nothing and lost the project that would have come next. What guarantees that a "no" only arrives when the numbers say no is not my good will — it is my own interest.
Do not send me the secret part
To tell you whether it holds up I do not need your competitive advantage. I need three things: what it does, who for, and what is stopping you. From those you can estimate the build cost, the monthly running costs, the legal obligations and the size of the market — that is, the whole report.
Keep the "how I do it better than the others" to yourself. If we end up working together you will tell me then, and by that point there will be a contract.
What I do, and do not do, with what you send me
- I read it myself. I do not pass it on, I do not discuss it with other clients, I do not add it to any contact list.
- I do not use it to build a product of my own solving the same problem for the same audience.
- I do not train any automated system on what you write, and the voice note does not pass through transcription services: it lands in my inbox and stays there.
- Whenever you want it all deleted, one line of email is enough. I do it and confirm it in writing.
I sign the NDA first
If you would rather have in writing what is written here, I will send it to you: a non-disclosure agreement already signed by me, before you send me the idea. Ask and you get it the same day — there is nothing to negotiate and no permission to request.
Your proof is my own email
When you send the idea you immediately receive an automatic confirmation containing your text and the date. Keep it: it is timestamped proof of what you sent me and when.
I hand it to you unprompted. And it is exactly the document you would use against me.
If I am already working on it, you hear within two days
Your idea may resemble something I already have in hand — for myself or for another client. In that case I do not go on: within two working days I write to you that I cannot take it, and I delete what you sent.
It protects you, but it protects me more: without it, the day I published a similar project I would have no way to show it came first.
A "no" can be checked
The report does not hand you a verdict: it hands you the arithmetic. What it costs to build, what it costs to keep running every month, how many customers it needs to stand up. If I say no, you have in front of you the numbers I said it with, and you can have anyone check them — another consultant included.
An opinion can be invented. A calculation cannot.
And then there are people
I work under my own name, not behind an anonymous form. If you want to talk to someone who has already worked with me, ask me for references: you can call them.
Now tell me about it.
Three lines or a voice note. What it does, who for, and what is stopping you: keep to yourself the part that makes you different.
